Villarreal have completed the signing of talented Argentine youngster, Luciano Vietto, who has secured a five-year contract with the club.
Having reached a full agreement with Racing Club de Avellaneda over the weekend, Villarreal officially announced the signing of 20-year-old Argentine player, Luciano Vietto, on Monday evening.
Amongst a number of talented young players to emerge from the youth system at Racing Club in recent years, Vietto had been close to making a move to regional rivals, Valencia, but they opted not to exercise their first option for the player, who had also indicated his preference to sign for Villarreal.
Vietto has signed a five-year contract with Villarreal and offers flexibility in attack, able to play as a centre-forward or slightly deeper as a second striker. An additional bonus for his new club, that although Argentine, he also holds Italian citizenship, which means he won’t take up one of their foreign player slots.
Villarreal also announced that Vietto will be presented before the media, at a press conference scheduled for 13:00 local time at El Madrigal.
