Atletico Madrid are close to finalising their squad ahead of what will be a long 2014-15 season and with several names linked with moves away from the Vicente Calderon, Manchester United duo Shinji Kagawa and Javier ‘Chicahrito’ Hernandez, as well as Chelsea’s André Schürrle have all been linked with Diego Simeone’s side.
Atletico Madrid have already formed one of the more formidable attacks in Europe adding Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandzukic to replace Diego Costa and David Villa, but the club is still linked with several moves to make the squad even stronger.
Atleti have been linked with both Kagawa and Chicharito on separate occasions throughout the summer, but a recent report by The Guardian has the La Liga champions prepared to pay €32 million for the talented duo, who have become outcasts at Old Trafford.
Simeone feels that Chicharito would be an excellent compliment to Mandzukic, while Kagawa would not only ease the pressure off Koke, allowing the Spanish international more creativity as opposed to the tactical approach of Kagawa, but also open up the Japanese market to the club.
In another reported, this time by Spanish sports daily, AS, sees Atleti linked with 24-year-old German international striker, André Schürrle, who has not been given sufficient minutes since joining Chelsea last summer for  €23 million from Bayern Munich.
Due to the friendly relationship between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, the report suggests a move for the versatile forward, but it would mean the departure of two players.
