Leo Messi and Sergio Busquets to be named Barcelona’s new vice-captains

Messi & Xavi
Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets will reportedly be named Barcelona’s new vice-captains, with the team’s two senior figures; Andres Iniesta, who will be named second in line and Xavi, who will be named club captain in place of the retired Carles Puyol.
According to Esport 3, new manager Luis Enrique allowed his team to vote for their captains on Tuesday following the departures of previous club captain Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes- one of the vice-captains.
In order the captains for the coming season will be: Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and Busquets.
This has yet to be confirmed by Luis Enrique and the club but Messi and Busquets inheriting the vice-captain roles would be a logical decision, as the four-time Ballon d’Or winner is also the captain of the Argentine national team, while Busquets is one of the most decorated players and a strong locker room presence, while also inheriting Puyol’s number 5 shirt.
