Bacary Sagna brands Arsenal's nine-year wait for a trophy ''embarrassing'' but insists Gunners are hungry for silverware

And on his own future the full-back says he loves playing for the north London side, adding: "Why leave?"

Bacary Sagna last night admitted it has been “embarrassing” for Arsenal to go nine years without a trophy.
Sagna insists the club's lean spell has left the whole squad even more determined to win the title or the FA Cup this season.
Arsenal full-back Sagna, who also dropped a big hint he wants to stay, said: “It would be my first trophy. I've been here for seven years and we haven't won anything so it's a bit embarrassing for the club, the fans and ourselves as well.
“As a player you want to be successful, show you have quality and when you don't win you always wonder what's happening. But it makes me even more hungry to do it.
“I know we have the quality to do it. Every day I think about it, every day I come training and make myself better and hope we can win something.
“It's our ambition is to stay top of the league. We have a quality team to be successful at the end of the season but we must stay focused.
“But we have to learn from what happened in the past, everyone is ready to fight and show how much we want it.”
Sagna is out of contract at the end of the season and his future is in doubt as Arsenal have only offered him a two-year deal.
Inter Milan are believed to have flown in for talks this week as he can sign a pre-contract while Galatasaray, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are keen. Sagna could go this summer but insists he has not been tempted before.
But Sagna added: “I love Arsenal, I love playing for Arsenal, I love my team. Arsenal is the most followed team in France and I remember I used to watch them when I was in France so it was a pleasure to play for them, so why leave?

“It's great here. It was like a dream when I joined the club because I used to follow Arsenal when I was in France and then I had the opportunity to join them and it's a pleasure to play for the team.”
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger admits the club's title challenge will be decided in March by their nightmare run of games.
They travel to Stoke on Saturday and also face Everton in the FA Cup, away games at Tottenham and Chelsea and Everton and they also entertain Manchester City.
Gunners boss Wenger believes if they are within touching distance by the end of March then they will have a great chance as their run-in includes home games with West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom and Swansea.
Wenger, who previously believes the title race would become clearer in February, said: “I was wrong about the month. March is the month. We play Spurs, City, Chelsea, Bayern, Everton in the cup.
“We have a great opportunity to show that we are strong, which is what I think. At the end of March we will know much more.”
