Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho rift deepens as ''Monsieur Polite'' labels Chelsea boss ''an embarrassment''

The Arsenal manager has tried to avoid a war of words with the Portuguese but was scathing of his latest attack
Arsene Wenger last night branded Jose Mourinho “an embarrassment” as their row plumbed new depths.
The Arsenal boss claimed Chelsea should feel ashamed by the Special One’s behaviour over the past few days.

Mourinho added to his Friday attack on Wenger being a “specialist in failure” by declaring he is fed up with the Frenchman being perceived as the good guy while the Portuguese is cast as the villain.

Mourinho said: “The only thing I feel is that I was very quiet in my place and somebody spoke not in a nice way about us. After that, I don’t accept that one is always ‘Monsieur polite’ and the other one is always the bad guy. I don’t accept, I’m sorry.”
But Wenger rounded on his Stamford Bridge counterpart when he said : “I do not want to go into silly, disrespectful remarks.

“I never spoke about him in my press conference and I will not start now. The only thing I know is it is more embarrassing for Chelsea than for me.
“I am embarrassed for him. I didn’t speak about him at all in my press conference.
“Let’s focus on things that are worthy of it. I am more disappointed for Chelsea than for me.”
Mourinho has also been labelled a “despicable bully” over his attacks on Wenger by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson. He told Radio 5 Live’s Sportsweek programme: “At its best it’s disrespectful, at its worst despicable. I find him boring.”
