The Catalan giants will
take on City in the last-16 first-leg on Tuesday and arrived in Manchester on
Monday to begin their preparations
Barcelona's players have arrived at
Manchester Airport ahead of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Etihad on
Tuesday.
The Catalan club will take on City in one of the most-eagerly
awaited clashes of the competition to date.
And as Manuel Pellegrini put his side through their
paces this afternoon, their opponents touched down in the UK to
begin their preparations.
Unfortunately for City fans, there was no
problem with Lionel Messi's luggage or passport, as the Argentinian arrived
alongside Gerard Pique.
They were shortly followed by team-mates
Carles Puyol and Cesc Fabregas, although the former Arsenal captain doesn't
look too pleased to be returning to
Meanwhile, Barca full-back Dani Alves has
had a dig at Manchester City, claiming they will never be as good as his side.
The Brazilian said: "City have good
players – but they will never be Barcelona.
"They are a modern football club
built on big transfer fees – but at Barcelona there is a history and class that
dates back a long way."
