Cazorla: I’ve told Iker Casillas to join Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder, Santi Cazorla recently admitted that he has tried to convince his Spanish international teammate, Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, to end his 24 year relationship with Los Blancos and make a move to the English Premier League, in particular Arsenal.

In an interview with Sport360, Cazorla admits that the two have had conversations about the former Malaga playmaker’s time in London and that the 32-year-old is leaving his options open, as his situation at the Spanish captial continues to become more frustrating with every clean sheet he keeps.
“I’ve told him [I would like him to join Arsenal], but so far he has just been curious about my experience in England.

“His situation is very complicated, but he has to make a decision.

“Lots of clubs want him, including Arsenal, but I think that it would be very difficult to leave Real Madrid because of what the club represents.

“He knows what he has [at Madrid] and what he could find at another club.”

Arsenal have been linked with Casillas several times over the past year, as current starter Wojciech Szczesny hasn’t shown enough consistency to warrant much confidence from manager, Arsene Wenger.
